HOA and Real Estate Law, General Counsel, Civil Litigation, Business Litigation, Collections, Enforcement Matters and Commercial Real Estate
“I always strive to provide straightforward legal advice while presenting both sides of a dispute to forge a path to a resolution. Discussing all options honestly and transparently with my clients is fundamental to my practice.”
Reasonability, honesty, and meticulousness form the foundation of Jake’s legal practice. He represents homeowner and condominium associations, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and national corporations in various areas; these include general counsel, collections, enforcement, business litigation, real estate law, general litigation, general disputes, and business development. His most significant professional accomplishment comes from an American Arbitration Association binding case against an American electric vehicle and clean energy company, where he served as the first chair attorney. Jake represented the plaintiff who brought fraud and misrepresentation claims against the company based on statements that a vehicle bought in the United States would be functional in mainland Europe. Against the company’s best attorneys, Jake’s methodical approach and adherence to the facts secured his client a money judgment against the company. Additionally, as first chair, he successfully represented a defendant/counterclaimant in a quiet title action filed in King County Superior Court based on an adverse possession theory. His client was awarded the title to additional adjoining land.
Jake’s most frequent advice to clients is, “Have a wide lens perspective concerning rules you want to implement in your community.” He frequently collaborates with homeowner associations and small businesses, guiding boards and developers concerning local statutes, ordinances, laws, and code adherence. Jake’s thorough understanding of real estate law, zoning issues, general litigation procedures, and commercial leasing and acquisition matters enables him to provide his clients with a wide range of services. Additionally, he provides insurance defense coverage services.
Jake embraces the mantra, “Things aren’t static; embrace change in your life, work, and relationships.” He approaches every new experience in life with an open mind and thoroughly dedicates himself to learning new things. When he is out of the office, he enjoys traveling, board games, backpacking, reading, and collecting vinyl records. His favorite activity is pack rafting, highlighted by a weekslong excursion to Alaska, where he traversed waterways and woodlands in the Arctic Circle.
